We are looking for Healthcare Support Workers for the smallest community hospital in our Trust, St Monica's inpatient unit in Easingwold.

At St Monica's we provide high standards of rehabilitation, palliative, general nursing, medical and day care, including physiotherapy and occupational therapy to patients who are registered with local GP surgeries.

As a member of our small but effective multi-disciplinary team, and with the support of your highly experienced Senior Nursing Team, you will join an established team providing efficient and effective delivery of high quality clinical care to ensure a positive patient experience.

The post requires staff with focus, enthusiasm, drive and commitment, and an ability to work closely with different members of the Multi-disciplinary team to deliver patient focused holistic care.

In this role you will carry out nursing and non-nursing duties as delegated by the Registered Nurse /Midwife; using your own initiative within the level of competence expected for the role.

We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about patient care. You will be able to communicate at all levels to help drive our service forward and provide high standards of safe patient care at all times.

You must be able to commit to a four week, full time Healthcare Support Worker Academy programme at the start of your employment.

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

  • Care and compassion whilst ensuring that patients' needs are met
  • Nursing and non-nursing duties as delegated by the Registered Nurse /Midwife; using your own initiative within the level of competence expected for the role.
  • Assisting and supporting members of the multi-professional team in order to provide a high standard of patient - centred care; performing duties without the need for constant direct supervision.
