Working as part of a highly effective and professional clerical and administrative team, the role involves support for a wide range of health professionals and patients.

The post holder will need to use their own initiative to book patients into relevant outpatient clinics for initial and follow up appointments.

The post involves the use of multiple electronic systems, as well as the in-house data bases. Registering referrals received electronically and via post, operating a variety of booking systems for various specialties across the Trust. This will include electronic referrals, telephone queries from patients wanting to book, change or cancel appointments and dealing with patients face to face on a reception desk.

  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.

Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Experience of working in an administrative role demonstrating evidence of competent data collection and data quality
  • Previous experience working within a hospital environment or Previous experience working in an administration role for a large, complex company.

Desirable

  • Use of Patient Administration Systems.

Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously while maintaining a calm manner.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including an excellent telephone manner.
