This role ensures that the Trust's temporary staffing needs are met promptly and efficiently, with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. The role also involves managing a team and ensuring the smooth operation of the temporary staffing service to support clinical and non-clinical departments.As the Temporary Staffing Team Leader at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide outstanding care. You'll lead a motivated team, ensuring that our wards and departments are always fully staffed with skilled professionals, even at short notice. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining our high standards and ensuring that we deliver on our commitment to patient safety and care quality.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage and develop a dedicated team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate: Oversee the placement of temporary staff, ensuring that all shifts are filled efficiently and in compliance with Trust policies.
  • Drive Cost Efficiency: Monitor staffing costs and implement strategies to reduce expenditure where necessary.
  • Enhance Service Delivery: Work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to understand their staffing needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Champion Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to NHS standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of governance and transparency.
