Job summary

The quality manager for North Yorkshire breast screening programme and York & Scarborough Symptomatic breast services will be required to deliver the quality safety and governance assurance for these services.

The services are delivered across 3 static sites, one based at Scarborough hospital and the assessment centre and screening unit at York Hospital along side 3 mobile screening units which cover over 24 locations around the county,

As quality manager you will have responsibility for ensuring the delivery of these services comply with all regulations such as IR(ME)R IRR health and safety regulations NHSBSP quality assurance guidelines and that the service works in accordance with the quality management system.

Working closely with the Breast Imaging Services Manager, Breast Services Administration Manager and AHP lead for radiology you will represent the service at Local, Trust and National meetings delivering the assurance and quality reports.

As part of the senior leadership team in the breast services you will work collaboratively to deliver the service to its highest quality and standard and proactively engage in horizon scanning and future strategy planning.

Main duties of the job

The function of the role is to ensure that Breast Screening and Symptomatic imaging services meet all the accreditation and regulatory standards required. The post holder will direct the management and administration of the quality management system to ensure constant system improvement.

The post holder will also perform the function of Risk Manager for Breast Imaging which involves ensuring compliance with CNST and CQC standards, monitoring of Serious Incidents (SI's), Adverse Incidents (DATIX), SIAF & complaints, attendance at the Trust's meetings and plays a key role in department and Care Group clinical governance.

The post holder will work closely with Breast Imaging services manager, operational managers, AHP lead and Director of Breast Screening. The post holder will also work closely with the governance facilitator for the Care Group ensuring that appropriate governance arrangements are in place to manage risk across Breast Imaging. The post holder will also be responsible for business continuity planning for Breast Imaging and ensuring all documentation is kept up to date and relevant.
