Are you an experienced children's nurse with experience of working in the community?
Do you have a BSc Specialist Practitioner qualification CCN or equivalent (Health Visitor, School nursing or similar)?
This role includes line managing approximately 40 members of staff across site and specialities. You will need to be flexible, adaptable and able to work across site. The successful applicant will be responsible for special school nurses, specialist nurses including bowel and bladder, asthma, allergy, Cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and epilepsy.
You will be part of the CCN team and support with a small caseload as required, as well as being part of an end of life rota as required to offer support to children and families in their own home.

Main duties of the job
This is a leadership role, you will work closely with your teams to lead change and service development. Ensuring high standards of care and embedding learning from datix and feedback from children, young people and their families.
We are a dedicated team of children's community and specialist nurses who facilitate health care for children in their own home. Our caseload is varied and includes complex, long term conditions and a broad range of chronic medical conditions. We provide the shared care for the regional oncology centre at the Leeds General Infirmary. We also offer short term support for medical and surgical patients to facilitate discharge and reduce ward attendance and readmission.
We offer teaching and training to schools and carers, nurse led clinics as well as MDT clinics. We provide advice and support to educational staff and health promotion and education to our children and young people.
The successful applicant will need to be a team player with excellent communication skills and a drive to provide high quality care. We have a nurse educator for the community and close links with Martin House Hospice. Within child health we have a children's day surgical unit, children's out-patient departments and a busy in-patient wards. We also have neonatal services on both sites. Our service has access to a team of specialist nurses for diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, allergy, bowel and bladder and a Transition Coordinator.
