Job description
Job responsibilities
Our Emergency assessment unit combines the functions of same day emergency care unit, frailty assessment unit and Emergency department CDU and is located on an adjacent ward area. We are currently undergoing an exciting £47 million pound project to offer high quality modern facilities and designed to create the best environment to care for our patients.
The project will see the creation of a new urgent and emergency care unit which would see surgeons and the medical staff working together at the front door of the emergency unit. This means we can improve and streamline how patients are assessed, admitted and treated, which should reduce the time that people wait in the department, and ultimately improve patient safety.
The new urgent and emergency care facility is scheduled to open soon in Spring 2024. Click here to take a virtual tour.
You will be responsible for patients attending for assessment in the Emergency Assessment Unit or Willow Ward (next day emergency care) on a rotating basis, supporting the multidisciplinary team.
EAU is open 08.00 to 22.00, 7 days per week, and the post holders will participate in a full shift rota pattern attracting pay enhancements for weekends and out of hours work.
Our Trust Grade CT3 posts will provide the opportunity to develop skills in leadership, management, strategy and project management. Working alongside our lead clinician, post holders will be involved with quality improvement projects, pathway development and clinical governance to improve standards of care and patient experience.
There will be opportunities to participate in audits, and quality improvement projects.
