Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Registered Nurse Associate to join the endoscopy team at York Hospital. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and compassionate Nursing Associate to join our fabulous team, who in turn will ensure that you are supported in a friendly and progressive environment. You will receive a comprehensive training package, internal and external training and ongoing support from the clinical educator team.
York Endoscopy is a new, state of the art 7 procedure roomed unit. The unit provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as, ERCP, EBUS/bronchoscopy, Bowel Cancer screening, oesophageal manometry, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, TNE, gastroscopy, oesophageal and colonic stenting, small bowel and colon capsule and an out of hours GI bleed service, which you will take part in once competent. Our aim to provide the highest quality of patient care ensuring patients privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
The unit is currently applying for JAG accreditation so there has never been a better time to join the team.
Hours of working Monday to Sunday 8am-8pm. These hours are subject to review to meet the needs of the service.
Full time position 37.5 hours and part time position of 11 hours Available.
Main duties of the job
The Endoscopy Nursing Associate role will be varied covering all areas in the department.
From completing pre-assessment and patient admissions to assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
We recover patients and ensure a full discharge is completed post procedure. Working within the Trust Values, policies and Guidelines.
The position requires an out of hours on-call commitment. Staff will initially buddy up with experienced nurses to develop their competence.
