Job summary

We are looking to appoint a motivated individual to join our Payroll Team at York Teaching Hospital. We are a friendly team providing a vital back-office service.

It is essential that this work is carried out accurately and efficiently. You must be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary organisational, administrative and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure and using your own initiative.

This is a Permanent, Full Time position and is based at our Tribune House Office in York

Main duties of the job

  • To provide simple day to day control of a section of the Trust's Payroll. Responsibility on a self managed basis to ensure consistent high level of performance delivery in a confidential, accountable and customer focused manner.
  • You will have a willingness to embrace new technologies and change. Experience in PAYE and Pensions, whilst beneficial, is not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and planning skills are essential for this post, as are excellent communication and customer care skills. This position offers a good development opportunity with potential for further progression.

  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English Language
  • NVQ Level 2 in administration

  • Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, Excel and word.
