Job summary

Are you a Registered Children's Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to progress and develop?

We are looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses, to join our dedicated Paediatric Team on the Rainbow Ward and Children's Assessment Unit (CAU) at Scarborough Hospital.

The successful candidate will need to be a Registered Children's Nurse. This post is also suitably for Newly Qualified Children's Nurses as we offer a comprehensive Induction and Preceptorship package

The Rainbow Ward at Scarborough Hospital is a busy 14 bedded General Paediatric Ward, with a separate Children's Assessment Unit, delivering care for children (0-18 years) with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

Main duties of the job

You should possess excellent clinical and communication skills and be highly motivated and dedicated to provide a high standard of care across both units.

As a Band 5 nurse you will work autonomously as well as part of the team, and be responsible for your own patients, with support from the nurse in charge, on a shift by shift basis, utilising and sharing your clinical expertise and acting as a positive role model for staff, patients and carers.

A broad knowledge of safeguarding procedures is desirable but full training in this area will be given. You will be expected to support other staff on the unit and work under the guidance of the nurse in charge.

You will be supported by our enthusiastic Children's Nursing Team, Nurse Educator Specialist Nurses and Medical staff, offering you excellent learning and development opportunities. You will have a tailor made personal and professional development plan to support your career development within this exciting new role.
