Renal Specialist Nurse - Pre Dialysis

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our renal specialist nursing team.

The Kidney Care specialist nursing service (previously 'pre dialysis') provides a pivotal role in the planning, co-ordination, care and support of patients with renal disease preparing for renal replacement therapy. Counselling and support is also provided to people who choose a conservative management approach, and to those who withdraw from dialysis therapy.

Main duties of the job

Close liaison with the renal multi-disciplinary team, and with GP and community nursing services are and integral part of this role

We are seeking an experienced renal nurse who has drive and passion for caring for renal patients. You must have demonstrable post registration experience with at least 2 years' renal experience at band 5 or above. Previous experience in caring for low clearance patients will be an advantage. You will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work flexibly within a small team, and also autonomously and prioritise workload is essential.

You will need to be able to travel to patients homes across York and North Yorkshire, therefore the ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.
