Job summary
We are looking for a talented and highly enthusiastic individual to join the Medical Education team in the role of Administration Coordinator. Medical Education are responsible for supporting the education and training of medics within the trust.
The role requires an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will as part of the role communicate with a wide range of people at all levels, both internal and external to the department and/or organisation. We are looking for individuals who are self-starters and have the ability to perform both autonomously and as part of the team. You will be able to manage and prioritise what can be at times a complex workload.
You will undertake as part of your portfolio as being the point of contact for the Internal Medicine Trainees, Core Surgical Trainees, and Dental trainees within the trust. Additionally this post holder will undertake the Administrator/ contact for the College Tutors for the schools based within the trust.
Another aspect of this post involves organising simulation/ educational training courses for medical staff. You will be expected to liaise with senior medical staff, Finance, Personnel, Catering teams etc to efficiently run a number of courses throughout the year.
Main duties of the job
- To provide administrative coordination to the allocated programmes.
- To work collaboratively within the Medical Education Team to ensure effective delivery of departmental & Trust objectives e.g., answering telephone and email queries and correspondence regarding medical education issues.
- Manage own workload to ensure deadlines are met and quality is not compromised, and ability to work independently but within the boundaries of the role and grade.
- Provide support and direction to new Junior Doctors who are starting at York and Scarborough Hospitals.
- To be involved in the planning and organising of simulation training courses.
- Assist with project work as necessary.
