Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and expert EPR Programme Director, to lead on the procurement and implementation of a new Electronic Patient Record across all our hospital sites. Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), the role will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Leads and Digital, Clinical and Operational teams. The successful candidate will have the responsibility for leading the strategic development of the EPR programme, ensuring the successful and safe delivery of outcomes, benefits and objectives.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have strong engagement, partnership and collaborative skills, with the ability to manage the complexities and high risks involved in such a critical programme of work. The postholder will represent the Trust on ICB meetings, regional and national events.

This is an exciting clinical transformation programme for which we require a highly motivated and committed individual, who can demonstrate a transformational leadership style and adopt a flexible and engaging approach to meet the competing demands of the role.

Successful candidates are expected to work across all sites flexibly with a minimum of 3 day a week on-site working.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Educated to Masters Level and / or PhD level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and management

Experience and Knowledge Required

Essential

  • Experience of delivering wide scale Electronic Patient record systems
  • Executive experience in health, care, or related sectors essential. Additional experience outside of health is desirable
  • Substantial experience of operating at board level and leading within a complex regulated environment
  • Experience of navigating the media and political stakeholders is highly desirable
  • Experience of delivering digital and workforce transformation at scale
  • Broad experience of leading large teams of professional staff within a performance management culture
  • A record of achievement in leading and managing the delivery and improvement of clinical services - an acute hospital
  • Expertise and understanding the issues facing the NHS
