Job summary
We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Psychology service based at York Hospital. This is a fixed term post to cover maternity leave.
We are part of a large team of Clinical Psychologists within Psychological medicine, based at York hospital to deliver support for people with health conditions. In Paediatrics we offer bespoke Psychological consultation, assessment and interventions for children, young people and their families. We have strong links to the Hull Clinical Psychology training course and accept regular trainees for final year placements.
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical Psychologist who would like to work with children and young people with Epilepsy and Neurological conditions. The successful applicant will enjoy working with individuals and families, and be confident in working in MDTs and across both clinic and community settings.
The post holder will be supported and supervised by the lead Paediatric Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Providing specialist assessments of the Psychological needs of children and young people with physical health conditions.
- Formulate and implement plans for the formal Psychological treatment of children and young people
- To provide specialist Psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing patients' formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans
- To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry, recording, report writing
- To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to the specific patient group, mental health, clinical Paediatric Psychology, health Psychology and Neuropsychology in general
