Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic person and flexible individual with demonstrable secretarial experience to work within the MSK ESP service.
The successful candidate will provide support to the medical secretaries and their consultant teams, and be a proficient audio typist with the ability to transcribe complex audio tapes and digital dictation, which will include complicated medical terminology.
Excellent administration/secretarial skills are vital together with good communication skills, as you will be required to deal with patients, Extended Scope Practitioners/Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Consultants and GP's on a day-to-day basis.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters, answering telephone queries and dealing with patient referral and appointment queries.
The successful candidate will be required to work well under pressure and manage their time and workload effectively. You will be required to work unsupervised and display initiative in pressured situations.
This post requires skills in medical terminology, demonstrable typing skills, including the ability to transcribe audio dictation.
Experience in the use of hospital based IT systems would be an advantage, but training will be given.
