We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Front Door, Same Day Emergency Care Therapy Team at Scarborough Hospital.

We are a supportive team with opportunities to work with advanced clinical specialist colleagues regularly. We are currently looking for someone to join our team promoting a culture of same day emergency care.

You will join a highly motivated team, at a time full of many new opportunities to shape the future of same day emergency care. The role enables you to develop dual competencies and work closely with other therapy colleagues. Full training packages and support are available. There will be opportunities to engage in service development and join our existing projects, including falls, frailty as we work towards Scarborough hospitals exciting new building due to open in 2024.

Main duties of the job

You will be based in Scarborough Hospital, with a self-motivated and aspirational MDT. A good knowledge of the SAFER principles will be beneficial.

SAFER Principles underpins the Trusts ethos to ensure the efficient flow of patients through the system, so they are treated in the right place at the right time with a home first approach.

The Trust actively promotes staff development through a structured support process which will be available to you for both clinical and managerial supervision, and encouragement to explore other learning opportunities. There are Advanced Clinical Specialists embedded within the team and you will also have access to peer support both from the senior clinicians in Scarborough, as well as wider AHP peer support within the Trust.

We are looking for a person who is an excellent communicator with a flexible approach, existing or an eagerness to establish links with community partners and a passion for 'trusted assessor' principles, will be at an advantage. You will have opportunities to support junior staff and students, drive and lead in service development projects and quality patient care.
