Job summary

We have a fabulous new opportunity for a passionate and highly motivated Physiotherapist to join our Chronic Pain Management team in the role of Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist.

Based within the York multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with colleagues, providing clinical leadership and expertise in relation to pain management, supporting service developments, quality improvements and outcomes.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills, be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a supportive multi-professional team. They will work collaboratively with system partners to improve the quality of patient care, pathways and outcomes.

The post holder will be provided with clinical and managerial supervision, continuing professional development and links to wider professional networks and resources to support ongoing development within role.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead in the development of organisational strategies and awareness of the needs of patients with complex pain management related issues across all trust sites. Establish networking arrangements with partner organisations, in order to ensure the needs of the local population are met in a seamless manner.
  • To work in collaboration with relevant AHP ACS colleagues to ensure joint working and a consistent approach to strategy and implementation.
  • To work in collaboration with relevant medical and nursing colleagues to ensure joint working and a consistent approach to strategy implementation.
  • To take the role of lead specialist physiotherapist in pain management, advancing clinical practice in this area of work and taking a lead in evolving and embedding best practice into all areas of clinical care.
  • To develop robust systems and processes to ensure the delivery of high quality falls related activities across the registered and non-registered workforce.

  • Diploma/degree in relevant profession
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • Have completed a variety of postgraduate courses and experience of working alongside specialist clinicians within relevant clinical specialty
  • Willingness to undertake appropriate agreed further training as required

Desirable

  • relevant validation clinical courses in pain management and/or MSK
  • Recognised leadership training within NHS leadership academy
  • Relevant MSc modules in clinical care or evidence based practice
  • State registration with relevant professional body

Experience and Knowledge Requirement

  • Relevant work experience at a senior level, to include delivery of specialist clinical caseload, training and supervision of others, service evaluation, managerial/organisational roles
  • Evidence of clinical, organisational and managerial knowledge
