Job summary
We are delighted to be recruiting Apprentice Nursing Associates for Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be employed and will train within the hospital, completing a variety of placements across the breath of health and social care and in various organisations, and learning will take place with The University of Bedfordshire, taking advantage of the state of the art facilities for learning and simulated practice.
You will join as a Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) for a probationary period, this will provide suitable applicants the opportunity to gain acute experience, prior to the apprenticeship start date.
The below conditions will need to be met in order to proceed onto the apprenticeship programme:
- The applicant will have a Care Certificate or be expected to obtain one during the first three months of employment
- Successfully complete the three month probationary first review with the Ward Manager
- Proof of GCSE Maths and English A-C/9-4 qualifications or equivalent
On successful completion of the probationary period, applicants will transition to/commence the apprenticeship, and will be given the opportunity to work within our acute healthcare setting, whilst combining training with academic learning to achieve a Level 5 Foundation Degree Qualification and NMC registration as a Nursing Associate
Trainees will be employed on a 2-year fixed term contract from the apprenticeship start date, allowing sufficient time to complete the programme.

The training programme emphasises the role that apprentices can play in life course (pre-conception to end of life). Some of the duties will include:

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton. Both hospital sites offer key services such as A&E, Obstetrics-led Maternity and Paediatrics.
