Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Clinical Oncologist, with interest in Colorectal and Gynae cancer sites, to work at the Bedford Hospital site Oncology Department and Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.You must be dedicated to providing high quality care, maintaining excellent clinical standards and continually looking to drive positive change by developing the service as well as your own sub-specialty interests.
The post holder will provide specialist Oncological services to the population served by the Bedford Hospital in conjunction with Prof R. Thomas, Dr R. Bulusu, Dr A Ahmad, Dr Aslam, Dr Hutka, Dr Kosmin, Dr Sehar and Dr Sabar with special reference to Colorectal Cancer and Gynaecological Cancer and provide specialist Oncological services to the Cambridge population.
Main duties of the job
To work with consultant colleagues and primary care services to develop rapid routes of referral for cancer patients
To liaise with clinical colleagues in Medicine, Surgery, Haematology and palliative care to assist in providing a seamless service for patients transferring between the different aspect of the service
To liaise with Colleagues in Medicine Surgery and the surgical specialities to provide regular cover for patients with neutropenic sepsis and other oncological complications.
To collaborate with colleagues at the Cancer Centre, Cancer Units and other agencies to ensure optimum quality of care for cancer patients
To work with colleagues and the radiotherapy and chemotherapy standards setting group in consultation with the directorate management structure to manage developments in oncology and the introduction of new drugs and technologies at Addenbrooke's and the network.
To participate in the undergraduate teaching program
