Job summary
This is an exciting time to be joining Bedford Hospital, which merged with Luton Hospital in April 2020 to become part of the dynamic Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There has been improved working and strategic developments across both sites and the Trust aims to work towards implementing integration benefits to the fullest in future.
This post is based at the Bedford Hospital site but it is anticipated that the successful candidate may work at Luton & Dunstable hospital 1 day a week in future.
Main duties of the job
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all patients presenting to the Hospital
- To deliver a high-quality imaging service with a focus on subspeciality interests as applicable
- To share, with colleagues in the Imaging Department, the management of all patients referred to the Trust
- To share in the general radiology work of the department including currently a 1 in 11 on call rota
- To support radiographers and sonographer staff in the department and also be involved in the teaching and training of specialist registrars grade, junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students
- To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit
- To have responsibility for and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD)
