Job summary
We are looking for experienced or aspiring Band 4 Therapy Technical Support Workers This exciting opportunity would be ideal for those individuals seeking a role that will help them to progress in their chosen career path.
You will have an interest and current knowledge in both the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions in the acute setting. You will also be enthusiastic and passionate to help us develop this pioneering role as we look to create a sustainable workforce, considering alternative skill mixes and new ways of working.
This post will be within the Orthopaedic and Surgical therapy team. You will be working closely alongside colleagues including, qualified Therapists and the ward based team.
Main duties of the job
- To accept patients referred to by an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist and hold responsibility for own caseload, mainly working without direct supervision but with regular liaison with the Therapist. At these times access to advice and support from a Therapist is available if required. All clinical work is routinely evaluated and monitored by an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist on a regular basis
- To accept patients referred by the Multi-disciplinary Team and relay all necessary information to the Therapists to allow timely interventions.
- To treat all patients according to set treatment protocols, monitor progression and make alterations as required, within agreed parameters.
- To complete all parts of the therapy intervention including discharge planning and onward referrals.
- To develop and maintain competencies through Continuing Professional development (CPD).
