Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint an administration assistant to join their expanding Site Redevelopment team. With the recent national award of £168m for the creation of a new Acute Service Block & Ward Block at Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, this is a great opportunity to be part of the Trust's biggest change programme.

A key focus of the role will be to provide a high quality administrative support service to the Redevelopment team to assist them in meeting a variety of programmes across both the Luton and Bedford Hospital sites..

This is a full time position on a 18 month fixed term, part time and flexible working will be considered, based at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital, but occasional travel to Bedford Hospital may be required.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the preparation of the Transition Planning Groups and workstream project meetings, circulating papers, minute taking (as required) and recording information appropriately.
  • Raise requisitions including ordering and purchasing of supplies / equipment, using the e-Procurement system and updating the PO tracker to keep an accurate records
  • Develop good relationships with all stakeholders, including Clinical Teams, Contractors, Suppliers and Sub Contractors to the Trust, supporting the Hospital's Redevelopment.
  • Assist in a range of purchasing projects as determined by the departmental work plan
  • Carry out general office duties and provide secretarial / admin support including diary management and minute taking.
