Job summary

  • Working with the SIA, the IA is responsible for contributing to all aspects of service delivery within the PR&BI function of Bedfordshire Hospitals Foundation Trust, supporting the Trust's development as a clinically led organisation;
  • The IA will work with the SIA, offering support and guidance as and when required, providing accurate, efficient and timely information to support the Clinical Service Lines they are aligned to in the delivering of their business objectives.

Main duties of the job

  • Creating Ad-Hoc Reports using the Data Warehouse/SQL/Power BI Dashboards
  • Freedom of Information Requests
  • Support SIA
  • Statutory, National and Local Reporting/Submissions
  • Support General Managers/Service Managers with reporting requests

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop reports responding to both ad hoc and routine information queries requested from clinical and non-clinical managers, project leads and medical personnel across the two hospital sites;
  • Develop and maintain new standard reports which meet users requirements using pre-defined queries, ensuring both electronic and paper versions are tailored to their specific needs;
  • Work with the Senior Information Analysts (SIA) in supporting Service and General Managers across the two hospital sites in the interpretation and understanding of Clinical Service Line reports aligned to the IA role;
  • Develop and maintain clear procedures for reports created and tasks to be carried out, to enable other members of the Information Management Department to support these as the need arises;
  • Provide information to support and inform Clinical Service Lines aligned to the SL Analyst role, across the two hospital sites, of any local or national initiatives, informing them of potential breaches in performance. This will involve data extraction, processing and analysis routines;
  • Provide extraction of data and analysis for national statutory reporting;
  • Understand user requirements and support the SIA Analysts and Data Engineering analysts with the development of BI analytics through reports, self-service tools and dashboards;
  • Liaise closely with the Data Assurance (DA) team on issues concerning the quality of Trust data;
  • Support data warehouse, computer system and interface implementations and upgrades, carrying out testing before release to end-users;
  • Provide data and analytical skills to support operational and strategic planning linked to the IA role within the Trust;
  • Keep abreast of new information published regarding the Information and reporting requirements for the Trust, including ISB notifications and respond accordingly. Communicate changes to relevant staff members and update reports and procedures to reflect these changes;
  • Build good relations with Trust colleagues and external customer and suppliers interacting with the Information Management Department;
  • Represent the Information Management Department at internal and external meetings;
