An exciting opportunity has opened up in our busy Short Stay Surgical Unit (SSSSU) for Band 4 Nursing Associates.
We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated NA's ideally with Surgical ward experience but those working in Medicine/DME will also be considered.
The Band 4 will be responsible for admitting patients and preparing them for Surgery, carrying out of clinical tasks such as taking ECGs and blood as necessary, caring for them post-operatively and discharging them to go home with the support of SSSU team.
The role involves working very closely with our Theatre and Recovery Room teams, communicating with the wider MDT and aspiring towards providing safe and effective care for patients requiring surgery.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated individual who is keen to expand their Nursing Associate experience within a Day Surgery Unit.
You will need to be able to organise and prioritise effectively, demonstrate sound clinical skills and excellent communication;
To lead, supervise, support and work within the existing team;
To work independently (with RN support) to prepare patients for surgery, care for them post-operatively and discharge them home safely. following discharge protocols.
