Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our recruitment team for a 12 months fixed term contract or secondment opportunity. The post holder will facilitate the overseas recruitment process within the Trust, working closely with both the various recruitment agencies and overseas staff. They will ensure all overseas new starters receive a positive and informative on-boarding service and will link in with the Head of Recruitment & Temporary Staffing and Recruitment & Retention Manager to drive through various overseas campaigns as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure a high quality, professional, first class recruitment service to overseas candidates and recruiting managers and drive the overseas recruitment strategy for the Trust.
This post can be based on either the Bedford or Luton & Dunstable Hospital site however cross site working will be required.

Job responsibilities
- With the support and guidance facilitate the overseas recruitment function ensuring robust processes are in place with agencies and overseas starters.
- Provide a holistic, high quality and professional first class recruitment service to recruiting managers and candidates.
- To act as the main link to the overseas nurses ensuring communication channels remain open and nurses are guided through their pre-screening checks and the NMC registration process.
- Provide expertise and guidance to both managers and staff on overseas recruitment and registration queries.
- Develop effective working relationships with managers and staff across the Trust, ensuring effective communication channels are in place.
- Ensure all pre-screening checks and work permit requirements are met.
- Have expert knowledge of the overseas recruitment process and the various stages applicants need to go through in order to transfer their professional registrations.
- Liaise with agencies and nurses regarding arrival dates and ensure availability of accommodation is in place.
- Organise itinerary for the first few weeks of employment which incorporates Occupational Health clearances, Trust Induction, Bank Account appointment and OSCE training sessions.
- Act as the main link for overseas staff during their first few weeks in the country offering advice and support as necessary.
- Arrange payment of invoices and the raising of purchase orders as necessary.
- Contribute to key meetings as required, providing overseas recruitment/campaign updates and address any issues.
- Provide updates/reports on overseas nurse recruitment as and when required.
- To ensure that all legal requirements and HR best practice as outlined in Trust policies, procedures and relevant NHS guidance and legislation are adhered to at all times
- Have ownership of own recruitment activity from start to finish.
- To provide training and guidance to other team members on overseas recruitment.
- Ensure compliance with Trust policies, recruitment processes and national/legal guidance regarding recruitment activity.
- Assist with general recruitment activity as and when required.
- To undertake such tasks as required by and under the supervision of the Head of Recruitment & Temporary Staffing and the Recruitment & Retention Manager
