Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 midwife, who has special interest in working with vulnerable women and their families, to lead a well-established team of midwives.

The Liberty Team midwives provide continuity of care to vulnerable pregnant women including teenagers, women with learning disabilities, victims of domestic abuse, women experiencing severe mental health issues, and women with complex safeguarding issues.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership and undertake responsibility for line management of team. They will ensure communication is maintained across the community leadership team involving all Community Team Leaders and Senior Managers, and will take responsibility for the effective organisation and delivery of care across the service on a day-to-day basis.

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical leadership to members of the Liberty Team, including clinical supervision, practice audit, development and training.

To provide line management, guidance and support to a team of midwives and student midwives.

To provide clinical expertise, advice and guidance across the team as required.

To support the effective and efficient running of all community services.

To liaise fully with all Community Team Leaders and Senior Managers.

To provide safe and effective midwifery care to vulnerable women whilst working in partnership within a multidisciplinary and multiagency team.

To ensure comprehensive, compassionate and enhanced midwifery care to vulnerable clients while providing the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in alongside the multidisciplinary team.
