Job summary

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, forward thinking, committed and motivated Nursing Associates with excellent communication skills to join our nursing team.

Shand Stroke Unit is a 32 bedded ward - 20 beds for stroke and neurological recovery patients and 12 beds for acute medical patients .

The successful candidates will support the Senior Nursing Team, Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe management of patients within our busy department.The team you will join is a stroke and medical based team consisting of two consultants. Shand Ward cares for every medical illness with a diverse type of clientele. We strive to deliver an exceedingly high standard of individualised nursing care over every 24hr period.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence. They will be an accountable professional and have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual's defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.
