This is an exciting opportunity to join Pilgrim Ward as a Band 5 Registered Nurse.
Pilgrim Ward has 30 acute medical beds and specialises in Respiratory Medicine. We have been the forefront of fighting the Covid-19 Pandemic and are so proud of our contribution thus far.
We manage acutely ill adults with respiratory conditions such as Asthma, COPD, Lung Cancers, Lung Fibrosis, Tracheostomy and Chest Drains. We also manage Level 2 patients on Non-Invasive Ventilation and High Flow Nasal Oxygen Therapy.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is passionate about respiratory medicine and looking forward to progress in acute ward setting.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a high standard of nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of patient care.
To work closely with the department / ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the department / ward environment.
To carry out all relevant forms of care under supervision and when proficient demonstrate procedures of care; supervise junior qualified and / or unqualified staff including student nurses whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
Demonstrate accountability for the care provided always as per the NMC code of conduct.
Ensure safe and effective care for complex respiratory patients using evidence-based care always.
