Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Urology Consultant at Bedford Hospital, which is part of the newly merged Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be working in close association with the current team of 6 consultants to provide comprehensive urology services, which includes clinics and day surgery theatre sessions. The population served by this hospital is approximately 270,000.
Main duties of the job
This is a substantive post and the post holder will be expected to support our consultants in delivering comprehensive care to women who attend the department.
The Trust, along with Luton & Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (as well as other health and social care partners) have embarked on a strategic change programme known as the Integrated Care Systems (ICS). As a result of this the successful candidate may be required to adapt their job plan in the future to work across more than one site within the area; this may also include delivering aspects of care in community settings which supports the Trust's vertical integration strategy.
