Job summary
To provide prompt and professional to the Maternity Department, in line with office procedures, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of Maternity Services.
To provide an essential support service to the efficient running of the Maternity Unit. They must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as being able to work on their own initiative. The post holder must have computer skills, be able to communicate effectively and work well under pressure. The highest standard of data quality input is required at all times.
To liaise with and offer support to the Community Midwives, Midwifery Leads, Consultants and other administrative staff to ensure all tasks are carried out in a prompt and efficient manner, within the given timeframe, with patient care at the forefront.
A willingness to support colleagues within the Department is essential as there will be the need to support different areas within the Maternity Department during busy periods, as and when required.
The post holder will have the ability to work under pressure and at times unsupervised, while maintaining outstanding patient experience.
The post holder will require the confidence to request support from his/her colleagues as and when needed to maintain a functional service.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with experience of working within a hospital setting to join our Team in Maternity as a Ward Clerk or in our Hub's as a Clerical Officer.
You will be working closely with the Midwifery Team and other members of the Multi -disciplinary Team supporting them to work clinically by undertaking the non-clinical elements that are required to support efficiency of the workplace. We are seeking individuals with good communication skills, a methodical approach to work and a willingness and aptitude to learn our in house IT systems.
You will be responsible for all the clerical support that the Team will require, including filing, updating IT systems as requested by the Team.
This is a very busy and challenging position, which requires a flexible approach. If you enjoy working as part of a team we would be interested in your application.
Hours are: Various over 7 days a week 24 hour cover.
