Job summary

You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognized apprenticeship qualification.
This is a full-time 37.5 hours a week, 20-month fixed-term contract that includes an 18-month Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant (Level 3) apprenticeship.
As a Trainee you will be paid at 70-75% of the Band 3 rate under Annex 21 of Agenda for Change.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you may be offered the opportunity to apply for a permanent post, subject to service needs.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a library assistant to join our small, friendly and innovative library team. You will gain insight into the role libraries play in supporting the wider NHS and obtain practical experience with support from your colleagues.As part of this role you will be required to complete an apprenticeship within an 18-month timeframe. The apprenticeship includes:
- Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant Level 3 Standard
- Functional Skills (English/Maths) (Level 2)
The apprenticeship is a requirement of the role.
About us
You will be supported by the Library Team in the workplace and have regular contact with the Apprenticeship Training Provider & access to the Training Provider's virtual learning platform. You will also be provided with protected time to develop your learning (20% of your work time will be dedicated to completion of the apprenticeship goals, this is called 'off-the-job' training).
