Job summary
The Macmillan Secondary Breast Cancer Nursing Team are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to join their award winning team as a Band 4 Macmilllan Secondary Breast Cancer Care Co-ordinator.
The post is 37.5 hours Monday- Friday and involves supporting the 3 WTE Macmillan Secondary Breast Cancer nurse specialists working in the oncology outreach breast cancer clinics across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, in co-ordinating high quality care for palliative patients.
Successful candidates will be passionate about making a difference to patients diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, as well as a healthcare background, ideally within oncology and willingness to travel to relevant hospital sites.

Main duties of the job
1. To work as part of the Macmillan Secondary Breast Cancer Nursing Team, providing an administration and care coordination role
2. Co-ordinate Cancer Nursing issues and being involved in service development.
3. Co-ordinate efficient and effective first-line support to cancer patients and their families.
4. Communicating effectively (daily and directly, face to face and telephone) with a range of individuals on various levels, e.g. patients, relatives, carers and other health professionals.
5. Taking the lead in organising, delivering and evaluating the health and wellbeing days as an ongoing project
6. The post holder will be expected to work with all grades of medical and nursing staff.
