Clinical Research Fellow in Uro-Oncology

Job summary
This one-year clinical research fellowship has been created to allow the applicant to gain clinical and research experience in Uro-Oncology. The fellow will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary teams and will support the consultants, clinical fellows, specialist registrars, and clinical research nurses in managing the large Uro-Oncology group clinical trial portfolios. This will facilitate more rapid clinical decision making, an increase in the number of trials opened, together with increased recruitment of patients into new and existing research protocols.This post will also have a particular emphasis on supporting the growing number of radiotherapy related studies in the group. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in the NIHR Associate Principal Investigator Scheme, which would provide practical in conducting clinical trials.There will also be opportunities to gain experience in other advanced radiotherapy techniques practiced within the Uro-Oncology team.
Main duties of the job
This post is for 40 hours per week to work as a clinical research fellow in the Uro-Oncology clinical and research teams.This position is suitable for an enthusiastic and research-motivated applicant with a medical degree, who is pursuing a career in Clinical Oncology and have an interest in gaining further research and clinical trial experience in advanced radiotherapy and Uro-Oncology.Candidates must hold full General Medical Council (GMC) registration, obtained FRCR Clinical Oncology qualification or equivalent, and have passed the International Academic English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam (if appropriate) at the time of post commencement.Informal enquiries may be made to the disease group contacts, as detailed within the job description.
