As a key member of the Quality and Standards team, the Quality Manager will work closely with the Associate Chief Nurse, Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention & Control, the Director of Infection Prevention & Control (DIPC) and the Lead Nurse for Safeguarding to support the delivery of high standards of practice across the organisation. They will lead on the development and monitoring of governance processes and procedures and embed standards of excellence, through increased teamwork and the promotion and facilitation of shared learning.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will have a supportive role in ensuring the Infection Prevention& Control (IPC) service is able to evidence adherence to the code of practice on the prevention and control of infections, under The Health and Social Care Act 2008 and is prepared for future inspections. The appointee will also have a supportive role with The Safeguarding team, as their Quality Manager. With a focus on continual improvement, quality and safety of services provided, the position offers a great opportunity to develop your project management and influencing skills in a supportive and dynamic team. The role will also include the support and coordination of the Trust wide health care worker vaccination programmes.
While the role has specific responsibility for IPC, the post holder will also support the Associate Chief Nurse in the divisional development and oversight of governance processes and procedures and associated learning.
The successful candidate will be able to organise data and have a precise attention to detail. They must possess excellent IT skills and an understanding of excel and be able to work efficiently within defined deadlines. They should have the ability to adapt to a new team quickly and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Develop formal systems and processes which provide the IPCT & Director of Infection Prevention & Control (DIPC) with the appropriate assurance and ensure these are embedded and understood within the division.
- Support the IPCT Lead in the delivery of the IPC annual work plan.
- Lead on the completion of actions identified by external and internal reviews e.g CQC, MIAA, Performance review
- Lead the development of IPCT risk registers which are consistent with the trusts Risk Management Strategy and are regularly updated and reviewed.
- Work with clinical and managerial colleagues and regularity bodies to develop and monitor indicators of clinical effectiveness, patient safety and patient experience.
- Responsible for overseeing the complaint and incident process within the IPCT, including contributing to investigation of incidents and complaints and production of investigation reports, for example for Executive Review Group, and of complaint responses.
- To support the ongoing development of audit & surveillance tools
- Review and update all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with national policy and regulatory guidance.
- Provide advice / nonclinical information as required to colleagues, in relation to queries relating to the IPC and vaccination service.
- Produces reports for Trust-wide meetings highlighting data trends and presents action plans as appropriate.
