An exciting opportunity has arrived to join the small domestic team at Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre, Winsford.
Being a domestic can be a very demanding, fast paced role. You will be expected to clean all areas within the Unit , including high risk areas to a very high standard and assist with the transfer of patients / deliveries between the hospital's departments. There may be occasions where you will need to wear PPE (PPE will be provided by the Trust).
We have a 20 hours per week vacancy working a 7 day rolling rota. Enhancements are in place for evening and weekend shifts.
Main duties of the job
To provide a cleaning service in public, patient and staff areas in compliance with NHS guidance for standards of cleanliness and in association with Departmental/Ward managers, housekeepers and supervisors, to ensure the delivery of a quality, patient focused service.Assist with the transfer of patients / deliveries between the hospital's departments.
You will need to be hard working, reliable and a good team player.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. Main responsibilities of the Job:
- Working in a small team, you will provide and maintain essential cleaning services in patient rooms and common areas, staff and public areas.
- To respond quickly and efficiently to cleaning requests following spillages.
- To deliver specialist cleaning processes for furnishings, floorings and surfaces.
- To clean general and patient equipment in accordance with agreed guidance from Infection Control, Elmhurst management and the Domestic Supervisor.
- Complete written schedules of work and weekly stock / linen orders.
- To clean isolation areas, infection areas in accordance with Trust Infection Control Policy.
- Adhere to the Legionella Policy.
- To clean patient areas ready for re-occupancy.
- To assist in maintaining safe and tidy rooms / department areas eg removing clutter, unwanted or out of date notices.
- To report problems with cleanliness to the domestic supervisor.
- To dispose of household, confidential and clinical waste in accordance with legislation and Trust policy.
- To maintain and clean manual and electrical cleaning equipment.
- To be aware of the safety of other peoples property and belongings.
