An exciting opportunity in our Emergency Department for an Emergency Department Technician has now become available. The main duties of the role are:
To support the triage nurses with ECGs, blood tests, cannulas, catheters.
Enabling the nursing triage to operate in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will be approachable, enthusiastic & conscientious and have good communication, a good sense of teamwork and be in good health.

Main duties will be taking bloods and inserting cannulas. Insertion of catheters. Completing ECG's.
IT and customer service skills are necessary. Previous Health Care assistant experience in any health care setting is desirable. Suitable candidates must have or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in health care and have completed their care certificate.

The role of a Technician within the Emergency Department can be demanding and challenging, but also extremely rewarding for the right individual.
You will be met with a wide scale of patient needs, from Minor injuries through to patients needing to be in the Resus department.
A band 3 Health Technician would be expected to work a 12.5 shift pattern including weekends and bank holiday, being flexible as required. We can offer both full time and part time permanent posts. You would be required to support the clinical team, providing a wide range of duties for the patient and their families and to assist in the efficient management of the department.
