Breast Imaging Associate Practitioner

Job summary

To act as a clinical member of the team responsible for providing the efficient daily management of the Breast imaging service ensuring a high standard of patient care is delivered whilst maintaining a high level quality service to agreed standards.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be expected to undertake the necessary training to perform mammographic examinations on patients attending for routine breast screening under the indirect supervision of a registered radiographer. They will be expected to evaluate the mammograms for technical and diagnostic quality and if necessary confer with a qualified radiographer. The postholder will be required to assist the radiographers and radiologists in the symptomatic and screening assessment clinics.
