Job summary
If you are an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager who enjoys a challenge, can demonstrate design, construction and strategic project management experience, ideally from an architectural or MEP background, and are looking for a varied and fulfilling role, then we are looking for you to join us.
We are not restricting our search purely to candidates with an NHS background as key for us are individuals with a passion for delivering excellence, with a high level of communication skills, and solid project management experience gained in an Estates or Construction industry setting.
With a competitive salary, aligned with a superb benefits package, including NHS Pension, great Annual Leave entitlements and the chance to gain further qualifications, these opportunities could represent a fantastic move for you with the security of long term tenure and an inclusive and friendly working environment.
There has never been a better time to join the Estates and Facilities Department at Mid Cheshire Hospital, with a significant capital programme primarily to deal with the RAAC issues, a new theatre build underway at Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and ambitious plans for a complete £multi million hospital re-development in progress at our main site in Crewe.
This scheme will ensure that we can provide state of the art Healthcare Facilities into the future.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to a Senior Capital Project Manager, you will be responsible for the building design and management of construction projects, taking lead responsibility as directed.
You will integrate with all sections of the Estates and Facilities Division and liaise with Trust staff and project professionals.
As one of our Estates Capital Project Managers, you will have the opportunity to manage a diverse range of projects, large to small, and be involved in the process from initial design phase through to completion.
About us
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.
The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its 'Be Safe Be EquiPPEd' campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.
The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.
At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.
