Job summary
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust & East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT) is seeking to implement a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) which is known locally as Digital Clinical System (DCS). DCS will be implemented across Cheshire East Partnership (which covers MCHFT and ECT) to improve quality & safety and to enable efficient working practises, leading to better patient experiences for our region.
The DCS implementation forms an integral part of an innovative and exciting clinical transformation programme that will be enabled by a comprehensive digital experience, incorporating a wide range of EPR functionality required to deliver excellent patient care.
The Interface & Integration Assistant will be responsible for the datasets and protocols implemented between MEDITECH and Trust provided 3rd party solutions, often via each Trust's Integration Engine (TIE). This will include responsibility for the safe use of critical integration software and hardware.
The Interface Analyst will be responsible for agreeing the appropriate interface specifications and assuring their compliance with published data and protocol standards, ensuring the contracted scope is supported. Where interfaces do not meet the requirements, the assistant will work with the analyst and suppliers to plan, test, and implement the rectification.
Their responsibilities will be active throughout the implementation, go-live, optimisation, closure periods and will handover to a business-as-usual role.
Main duties of the job
The Interface & Integration Assistant will liaise with the EPR, 3rd party suppliers and interface specification owners, e.g. NHSEI and international bodies, and other interface experts. The role will also require close working relationship with the DCS Interface Analyst, Trust TIE managers, configuration and test leads, the Cutover Manager and the Clinical Safety Officer.
Strong analytical skills and integration specifications knowledge will be required to ensure success in this highly complex and high-risk programme of work.
The Interface & Integration Assistant will contribute to the overarching Interfaces Strategy and its refinement of the programme plan. They will also contribute to the design and implementation of 1st line integration support services.
