General Practitioner in Urgent Treatment Centre

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Practitioner to work in the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), co-located with the hospital's Emergency Department on a permanent basis every Saturday 08:00 - 22:00 hrs. Further shifts are offered on an adhoc basis and there are additional hours available working evenings and weekends alongside the UTC in the GP OOH service.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a team of GPs and Advanced Practitioners. They will work alongside streaming nurses and technicians, supported by a service management and admin team. This post is to support the extended opening hours to meet the NHS England UTC Principles and Standards.
As the GP you will assess, treat and manage patients of all ages presenting with primary care problems. You will record full clinical notes using the electronic clinical system and work as part of the wider clinical team. You will use internal and external referral pathways for patients in the UTC and ensure that practice is evidence based and in line with national or other given standards.
You will give advice and education to patients and adopt a reflective approach to clinical practice, including reporting and helping the team to investigate incidents. You will be an effective role model and maintain clinical excellence within the department and support education and training together with your colleagues.
The UTC is open 7 days a week, 13 hours a day (08:00 - 21:00 hours). We can offer you a competitive salary along with access to our generous benefits scheme, including the NHS pension, annual leave, study leave and salary sacrifice schemes.
The successful applicant must have full registration with the GMC and continue to hold a Licence to Practise. The applicant must also be on the GP Register or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training.
