Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity has a for a talented and motivated individual to take up the post of Service Manager for Breast and General Surgery Services at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicant will have extensive operational, people and financial management experience gained in an NHS setting and will need to draw upon previous experience of service planning and have a track record of successfully delivering key performance targets.

You will be educated to first degree level or have equivalent level of experience in leading a service and you will be able to demonstrate the acquisition of business management knowledge. You will have the ability to develop and lead specific projects and manage any associated change processes.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills who enjoys working in an energetic, challenging, and demanding environment. This role will bring challenges and opportunity for an individual to shine in their own merit.

Main duties of the job

Working with the Clinical Lead to ensure that

  • Performance expectations are met
  • Key performance targets and access standards are delivered, specifically elective restoration
  • Action plans developed and implemented with the Specialty teams
  • Effective utilisation of resources
  • Improvement projects are delivered
  • To provide leadership and management support to the sub-division

To work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure we get it right first time for patients.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.
