Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate individual to fill this exciting and challenging position and work as a consultant to deliver high quality Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutritional care to children and young people aged 0-16 years.
This is a 10 PA consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist appointment. The post holder will work together with 6 other consultant paediatric gastroenterology to deliver patient care.
The post holder will be expected to provide gastroenterology specialist service based on their previous experience and skills. We are open to colleagues with a specialist interest they are interested in developing; these roles are particularly suited to new consultants looking for a supported post to develop in their role.
Main duties of the job
This post attracts 10 programmed activities per week. There may be the opportunity to discuss and review this with the clinical director.
There is overnight on call in this roll but we run a hot week model.
The supporting professional activities (SPAs) allocation within the provisional job plan is anillustrative guide only and will be finalised following individual agreement with successful candidate.
About us
This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a stand-alone paediatric hospital alongside a variety of paediatric specialty services caring for children with complex needs, including cardiology, cardiac surgery, neonatology, neurology, neuromuscular, trauma, oncology, respiratory, long-term ventilation, and intensive care. It also will support the out of hours provision for the Children and Young People of Cheshire and Merseyside.
The consultant will need to work closely and foster good relationships with all members of the child's multi-disciplinary team and with colleagues from local DGHs to support the Children and Young people of Cheshire and Merseyside.
