Job summary
A vacancy has arisen in the Alder Hey Emergency Department for a hardworking person to join the A&E Reception Team. You will be working in a busy A&E department which is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are open Xmas Holidays, Easter Holiday and all Bank Holidays. The post will require full flexibility to work shifts over a 24hr period including night shifts. There will periods of lone working for some shifts whilst other shifts supported by colleagues, team work in imperative with a flexible approach. You will need to have good computer skills and a polite pleasant manner and be able to work under pressure.
Main duties of the job
Registering pts into the A&E Department, admitting pts to wards, booking appts, process referrals, liaise with all doctors, nurses, HCA, admin, police, GP. Deal with pt queries' face to face or over the telephone. Plus additional admin duties. Work within a team and as a loan worker. Work with line managers.
Support changes in new processes within the department and AH.
To be 100% flexible able to covering morning, day, evening and night shifts. be able to work all Bank holidays inclusive of xmas and NY.
