Job summary

Alder Hey value the contribution that our colleagues make. In recognition of this we are in the process of expanding our HR Team and looking for an experienced HR Advisor following a promotion of one of our team.

We are looking for someone passionate about supporting the Human Resources Manager and Business Partner in the delivery of an effective, professional HR Service. You will provide a compassionate and comprehensive front line Human Resources Service, on all aspects of HR including; disciplinary and grievance, performance issues, absence management, change management and other related HR projects.

You will be Level 5 CIPD qualified with Associate CIPD membership, have a strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR systems, practices and processes, ideally within the NHS.

You will have a high standard of written and verbal communication with strict attention to detail and strong Microsoft office / IT skills. You must be able to demonstrate excellent time management, to organise your time effectively to meet competing and often changing deadlines.

Main duties of the job

To provide HR professional support contributing to the provision of a high quality, compassionate and effective advisory HR service to the Trust. To support the HR Manager and HR Business Partner in identifying and driving improvements in the management of Human Resources across the Trust. To provide support and advice to line managers and employees across a range of HR issues.

  • As part of the HR Business Team, provide support to our managers within the Trust on all HR issues ensuring that all advice supports Divisional and Trust objectives in accordance with legislation, NHS and Trust Terms and Conditions, Trust policies and procedures and HR best practice. The ability to refer to the HR Manager or HR Business Partner will be available as and when required.
  • Ensure that all managers implement Human Resources Policies in a fair and inclusive manner.
  • Provide support in the implementation of the change agenda arising from national, regional and local Trust initiatives.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for delivering a high quality, professional HR service, acting as an ambassador for the HR profession.
  • Assist managers in the review of the workforce utilisation in line with changes to services to enhance the capacity to develop the workforce that has the skills and competences to provide safe and high-quality services.
  • Participate in the evaluation and grading of posts within the Trust, in accordance with Agenda for Change, and advise managers on the impact of the grading across the wider workforce.
  • Represent and/or deputise for the Human Resources Business Partner and or Human Resources Manager as required.
