Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trusts onsite Nursery to cover maternity leave.

The Rocking Horse Nursery is a friendly and child focused nursery that has cared for thousands of staff and local children since its creation. In the recent OFSTED inspection the Nursery received a "good" outcome with elements of outstanding practice.

Main duties of the job

  • To role model positive behaviour, promote the Trust Values and deliver best practice in line with the EYFS.
  • Create an exciting, engaging and stimulating environment for children.
  • Have key worker responsibility for a group of children and be accountable for child development.
  • Creation of fun activities that promote excellent learning outcomes in line with the EYFS.
  • Comply with all OFSTED, local authority and Trust regulations.
  • Safeguarding of children and escalation of any concerns in line with policy.

About us

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care to over 275,000 children and young people each year. Alder Hey has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients' homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Sunflower House building newly relocated, and opened on the hospital site.

We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We're also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above

  • First aid training
