An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 AHP Associate Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) to join the growing Education Team within Alder Hey Children's Hospital Trust. This newly established post will work closely with the AHP PEF / Preceptorship Lead and in collaboration with their nursing counterparts to support the delivery of clinical placements.
We are looking to recruit a qualified AHP who has a passion for education and the development of others. The successful applicant should be creative and innovative in their approach to sharing knowledge and supporting new ways of working. You will be committed to providing high quality, evidenced based learning opportunities and work with AHP educators and students, preceptors, preceptees and apprentices to shape and evaluate the delivery of education and development. At Alder Hey Children's Hospital Trust, we employ 11 of the 14 AHP Professions so you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of professions and learners and be able to directly influence and support the high-quality care we provide to our children, young people and families on a daily basis.
Main duties of the job
- Work in collaboration with the AHP Preceptorship Lead and Nursing Education Team to support learners and provide high quality learning opportunities
- Provide practical support to teams to deliver high quality learning opportunities, using feedback from students and a collaborative approach from stakeholders to shape placements
- Contribute to the student and preceptor Trust induction process
- Create and facilitate peer support groups/ educational workshops amongst wider AHP learners within the Trust
- Contribute to the student and preceptor induction process
- Deliver high quality training to qualified staff in teaching and education roles
- Act as a champion for AHP education and Trust for education and development
- Create and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders
- Share best practice with regards to education and training within the Trust and across the region as appropriate

The main responsibilities are:
- Act as a knowledgeable resource/champion of education and learning
- Support practice supervisors/assessors with the learning and development needs for students. With the support of the AHP preceptorship leas/ PEF, assist educators with learners with individual learning plans or failing students in supporting action plans and support with complex cases.
