Job summary
The Post Holder will provide an effective and efficient unsupervised Multi Skilled Plumbing and Heating Maintenance Service activities that will include electrical work for complex planned and unplanned preventative maintenance. To be responsible for fault diagnosis and rectification on a wide range of plumbing and heating plant and equipment including Legionella prevention - calorifier, receive complex and sensitive information relating to estate contracts, leases, and rents. To provide an initial point of contact for Helpdesk service requests relating to the Trust owned Estate liaising with other department members to ensure requests are dealt with in a timely manner. To work with the Finance Department to ensure all invoices are paid on time as per the Trusts Financial Instructions, the post holder will be expected to work with a minimum of supervision exercising independent judgement and using their own initiative and adopting a team working approach to make a direct and positive contribution to the team.
Main duties of the job
- The Post Holder will read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
- The Post Holder will use their full knowledge of skills to carry out the Maintenance the Coldwater systems including mains and tank supplies, pipework and associated valves, filters, fitting etc.,
- The Post Holder will carry out new plumbing installations as part of upgrade collate and produce information at the request of the Compliance, Risk and Contracts Manager and other Departmental Managers.
- To be responsible for liaising with the Compliance, Risk and Contracts Manager regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and services as necessary.
- The Post Holder will carry out planned preventative maintenance and commissioning tests in accordance with Trust Procedures.
- The Post Holder will be responsible for undertaking mechanical and electrical installations in accordance with the 'Water Regulations Advisory Scheme, HTM 2027 Water Supplies.
- To be responsible for ensuring the Estate clerical function is continuously improved whilst exercising judgement and managing the workload effectively and efficiently, liaising with the appropriate staff as require
- The Post Holder will be responsible for keeping Estate Information updated to enable them to advise callers accordingly.
