Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for candidates who have an interest or experience in working with children and young people to be an engagement practitioner for the new Gender Service for the North of England. The Children and Young People's Gender Service is a Phase 1 Provider of Gender Services provided in partnership by Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will work to engage children, young people and families in the therapeutic process, supporting the implementation, under the supervision of an experienced clinician, of complex interventions. The post holder will be expected to liaise with external agencies including health, education, social care and the voluntary sector and act as a named key worker to children, young people and families accessing the service. Engagement practitioners will also be responsible for enabling effective and meaningful service user participation in the design and delivery of the service through individual and group engagement.
Successful candidates will have a passion for delivering safe, high quality and effective services to children and young people and will be enthusiastic and committed with strong communication and team working skills.

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care to over 275,000 children and young people each year.
