Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join one of the largest CMAS accredited clinical Gait Laboratories in the country. The North West Movement Analysis Centre (N.W.M.A.C) is looking for a new Clinical Scientist / Biomechanist to support their current clinical scientist. N.W.M.A.C in a busy clinical Gait Lab seeing in excess of 600 patients per year. Both children and adults are tested with varying pathologies but the focus is on patients with cerebral palsy. We have a strong partnership with Liverpool John Moores University and so there is plenty of opportunity for research and development.

To carry out the assessment, data acquisition, data processing and data analysis of patients referred to the North West Movement Analysis Centre, with gait disorders due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders and trauma.

To be directly involved in the clinical decision-making process as part of the multidisciplinary team consisting of consultant orthopaedic surgeons, gait lab director, gait lab manager, physiotherapists, clinical scientists and biomechanist.

Main duties of the job

To carry out the assessment, data acquisition, data processing and data analysis of patients referred to the North West Movement Analysis Centre, with gait disorders due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders and trauma.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and committed Administrator for our Gait Lab department for 18.5 hours a week.

Our Gait Lab is a world class facility while our Spinal/Orthopaedic department boasts one of the largest and prestige's orthopaedic departments in the country.
