Alder Hey Children's Hospital will provide Level 1 services for children with CHD. Level 1 services for adults with congenital heart disease will be provided jointly by Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. Specialised Obstetric Services are delivered jointly between Liverpool and Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The LHCH Cardiovascular Imaging Unit is well-established. The echocardiography department has BSE advanced training accreditation, performs 14,000 echocardiograms performed per year, including stress echocardiography, TOE and advanced echocardiograms.
We have a large cross-sectional cardiac imaging service at LHCH. We have 2 dedicated MRI for our cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) service: 1.5T cardiac optimized Siemens Sola MR and a 3T VIDA Siemens scanners on the LHCH site, and perform 5,000 Cardiac MRIs annually. We are an accredited EACVI CMR laboratory.
We also have 2 dedicated computed tomography (CT) scanners, Siemens FORCE CT scanners and perform 3,000 Cardiac CT annually.
