Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Improvement Lead to join our Patient Safety and Care Improvement Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of impactful local and national programmes that improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare across the North West Coast.

In this key role, you will lead and support a variety of quality improvement projects, working closely with clinical, corporate, and system partners. You'll play a vital role in embedding a culture of continuous improvement, offering expert guidance and coaching, and helping to drive long-term change across our Integrated Care Systems.

You'll also contribute to the development and delivery of workforce, education, and leadership programmes, aligned with our Coaching Academy and broader system-wide priorities.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • A track record in quality improvement and change management

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

  • Proven experience in project and programme delivery

This role is based at Health Innovation North West Coast who are hosted by Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

The role will require some travel across the North West Coast.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver Improvement Projects: Lead and support quality and efficiency improvement initiatives across local and national healthcare programmes.

  • Embed Continuous Improvement: Promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement within clinical and corporate services across Integrated Care Systems.

  • Quality Improvement Expertise: Act as a Quality Improvement (QI) expert, providing guidance, coaching, and support to teams on improvement methods and tools.

  • Programme Support: Work with senior leaders to scope, plan, and deliver improvement and patient safety programmes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to mobilise quality improvement initiatives, including leadership and culture development.

  • Business Case Development: Support the creation of business cases and contribute to planning and delivery of workforce, learning, and educational programmes.

  • Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with a wide network across the region, providing leadership and direction to ensure timely and high-standard programme delivery.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects independently, adhering to strict timelines and standards.

  • Workforce and Education Support: Align improvement efforts with workforce planning and education needs identified through partnerships.
